MICRO-TITRATOR 3000
With the new MICRO-TITRATOR 3000 we are introducing a new pH detector for FIA experiments based on our quinhydrone solid composite electrodes. This detector can measure the pH of liquid samples in a fast and reproducible manner. It runs on a user friendly Microsoft Windows application software.
The sensor material is known to be an excellent choice not only for clear solutions but also for a wide range of light scattering liquids like emulsions, e.g., which are difficult to analyze by photometric means. The FIA technique also allows for automatic pH measurements and monitoring in production processes. Another application is the automatic determination of the acid content of a liquid sample based on FIA titration under potentiometric conditions.
This new detector has a fast response time with a very small time constant at sufficient long-term stability. The composite electrode has a ring-shaped form factor and therefore guarantees a nearly undisturbed flow of the solution through the sensor ring. Compared to traditional glass electrodes the quinhydrone solid state electrodes are so robust that even measurements in HF are possible. They are easy to maintain compared to traditional glass cells.
As with all FIA techniques the viscosity should be the same for sample and calibration solutions or at least the difference in viscosity should be kept as small as possible.
For acid-base titrations the detector has a dynamic range of 4 orders of magnitude. The detector is almost 10 times more sensitive than titrations based on photometry with colour indicators.
We were able to demonstrate with this instrument that it is also possible to determine the Calcium and Magnesium content in water.
But not only can the detector be used for each of these individual measurements. It is in fact possible to measure sequentially pH, acid and base concentration and water hardness, e.g., with one and the same detector.
All it takes for an test like this is a stream selector and different carrier solutions.

pH electrodes for teaching (schools, colleges, universities)
A Unique Adventure in Teaching and Learning. DPST developed this patented electrode especially for education in schools, high schools, colleges and universities and – last but not least - for training in industry. Our pH-QuinProf® is an improved version of the former pH-QuinTeach® electrode.
The pH-QuinProf® opens an excellent and demonstrative short cut between theory and practice of pH-Measurement: The user follows the path from the instructive assembly to the easy insight and highly accurate measurements.
The pH-QuinProf® is a self assembly kit which contains a glass body, a screw-cap with a special low-noise-coax cable and innovative pH-composite-electrodes. - All in one means one working electrode and one reference electrode together - One electrode is the working electrode, one the reference electrode. If filled with a pH 7 buffer the zero point is exactly at pH 7. The calibration free pH-QuinProf® fits perfectly the DPST-ELMETRON instrumentation but is compatible with any common pH-Meter.
